I've been studying and practicing the Dharma for three years now, ever since I met and took refuge vows with H. E. Garchen Rinpoche. My life has changed in so many ways after that and I've seen a great evolution on myself and my meditation practice. I've done quite a few retreats ever since like the four thoughts that turn the mind, as well as Yamantaka and Vajrakilaya drubchens, a Chöd retreat, my Ngöndro practices and have received empowerments and teachings several times. I have served at events in GBI and I have a personal practice at home too. Reading Dharma books is a very important part of my practice as well, so I try to give myself time to study and apply the teachings to the best of my abilities on a daily basis :) I'd also like to add that I'm very happy and honored to have taken Bodhisattva bows with H. E. Garchen Rinpoche recently too!
My name is Maya and my Dharma name is Könchok Dagme Yangchen. I am 26 years old and for the time being, I'm mostly dedicating my life to Dharma practice. Whenever I'm home in Mexico City, I'm finishing my college degree on Political Science. I'm a bit of an aspiring musician; I play basic guitar and sing and I've mostly done so on ceremonies with the prayer that it brings healing and harmony to others. I truly love reading, traveling and practicing any and all forms of meditation and I strive to be a more generous and loving human being every day.

Kind dear friends,
This fundraising campaign is born out of the intention of attending winter teachings from December 29th 2019 to January 5th 2020 at the Garchen Buddhist Institute. As some of you might now, I was recently trying to fundraise for the Vajrakilaya month long retreat taking place on November this year but being a little too tight time wise, I decided not to attend and take down my petition. However, I was able to raise $350 USD for which I'm profoundly grateful and decided to use that money to try to attend winter teachings on December. This would cover for my transportation expenses, but now I'm trying to raise the money for accomodations, teachings and food. This year has been very intense for me in terms of practice and I've destined most of my time, energy and money to Dharma practice, which is a dream come true for me but being on retreat for long, I am now trying to continue my practice and education through the Sangha's enormous generosity while I take back my projects and become self sustainable. This upcoming event (Winter teachings) is truly a wonderful opportunity to practice for the welfare, happiness and long life of H. E. Garchen Rinpoche and all other kind gurus, as well as for the benefit of all beings! There will be extensive teachings on the 37 Bodhisattva practices, an empowerment, purification practices like Vajrasattva and Namgyalma and many other blessings, so I'm hopeful that I'll be able to attend. Thank you sooo much for reading my petition and for your loving kindness and generosity!
As an offering, I'd like to specially dedicate my daily practice as well as the practices I'd be doing at GBI for the benefit, happiness and long life of my kind sponsors and their loved ones (you can send me names should you wish). Also, if anyone would be interested, I can offer various books on spiritual subjects and Dharma upon request (both electronic or through mail). Feel free to contact me on my email: firstname.lastname@example.org or Skype: shanti.sundari for any petitions. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
