I am currently a Shambhala Vajrayana practicitioner (SSA10), and spend time volunteering for the dharma and also various cancer organizations.
I have been practicing the dharma since 1982, and have been a monastic since 2004. I have lived at Gampo Abbey, and been staff at Shambhala Mountain Center, secretary for the Great Stupa and summer staff for Dorje Denma Ling. I am presently Center Chopon for Karme Choling.
I identify strongly with “warrior in the world” which has led me to live where I can be of service to the dharma. I find that all I really want to do is practice and help others.
I am so happy to finally be doing this retreat!
Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche
Eleven years ago, breast cancer interrupted my Three Year Retreat at Sopa Choling and I was not able to attend the third year. At that time, Thrangu Rinpoche, my preceptor, recommended in his kindness that I do the remaining practices when it became possible.
In 2011, health and circumstances arose, and I was able to complete the first of these practices.
On December 14th, 2019 I started the second practice at Karme Choling as an inhouse-retreatant. This is an Avalokiteshvara/Compassion practice. The intention is to also finish the final practice, which is a protector intensive.
The retreat will be roughly 4 months long.
My offering is to continue to be of help, especially in support the dharma and those who are ill. I feel that this retreat, especially the compassion practice, will enrich my capability to be of service to everyone.
