As Director of Programs at Karme Choling, I wish to represent Karme Choling at the Growing Brave Conference in Boulder, CO toward being a guiding light in youth and family programming across the Shambhala mandala.

Main teachers

Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche

Karme Choling has, perhaps, the most and longest-running youth & family programming in Shambhala:
- Family Camp
- Fall Family Weekend
- Holiday Family Week

In addition, we host countless Elementary School, Middle School, High School, and College day and week-long visits and programs.

In discussions with our youth program teachers and parents, in the absence of Elizabeth Dealing (our once guiding light for youth education), Karme Choling has discovered the need for:
- education standards
- a curriculum
- annual program planning
- integrated programming
- qualified teachers

The Growing Brave Conference begins those conversations. This year is the inaugural gathering that invites all Shambhalians to come together to contemplate our developmental and interrelational path, and how the culture in our households dovetails with sangha and society.

In addition to being a voice for Karme Choling's youth & families at the Growing Brave Conference, I offer to remain a guiding light toward the creation of the highest standard possible of youth & family programming that can be replicated across the Shambhala mandala.
